ହିତୋକ୍ତି ମୁକ୍ତାବଳୀ

ମାତାଙ୍କ ଗୁଣରେ ଜାତି ସବଳ,

ମାତାଙ୍କ ଦୋଷରେ ଜାତି ଦୁର୍ବଳ ।

Strength of mothers nation’s

strength engenders,

Nation is weak if weak are mothers.

ଜାତି-ଭାଗ୍ୟ ଜାତି ଜନ ହାତରେ,

ଜନ-ସୃଷ୍ଟି ଏକା ମାତାଙ୍କ କରେ ।

It is men that forge a nation’s fate,

It is mothers who these men beget.

ବ୍ୟକ୍ତି ଗଣନାରୁ ଜାତି ପ୍ରମାଣ,

ମାତାଙ୍କ ଗୁଣରେ ବ୍ୟକ୍ତି ନିର୍ମାଣ ।

It is individuals that constitute a nation

Each individual verily is a mother’s creation.

ନାରୀ ଯେବେ ହେବ କର୍ତ୍ତବ୍ୟହୀନା,

ଜାତିର ସୌଭାଗ୍ୟ କଳ୍ପନା ସିନା ।

If women do become lost to duty

A myth scare is prosperity.

ଯେ ଜାତିରେ ଯୋଗ୍ୟା ରମଣୀ ଯେତେ,

ସେ ଜାତି ଶକତି ଅଧିକ ତେତେ ।

The more capable the women are,

The higher riseth the nation sure

ଯେ ଗୃହେ ରମଣୀ ସତର୍କ ଥାଇ

ସେ ଗୃହେ ଅଶାନ୍ତି ପ୍ରବେଶ ନାହିଁ ।

If women in home are careful,

Everything in peace, all cheerful.

ଗୃହ ଶାନ୍ତି ଗୃହ ସୌଭାଗ୍ୟ ପାଇଁ

ଗୃହର ଗୃହିଣୀ ଏକାନ୍ତ ଦାୟୀ ।

Domestic peace and domestic pleasure,

Rest in hands of housewife sure,

ନାରୀଙ୍କ ଗୁଣରେ ଗୃହ ବିକାଶ,

ନାରୀଙ୍କ ଦୋଷରେ ଗୃହ ବିନାଶ ।

Wise women make home prosper,

Foolish ones its ruin ensure,

ସମାଜରେ ନରନାରୀଙ୍କ ସ୍ଥାନ,

କେହି ତ କାହାକୁ ନୁହନ୍ତି ସାନ,

ଜାତି ମୂଳ ଭିତ୍ତି ଗଢ଼ନ୍ତି ନାରୀ,

ନାହିଁ ସେ ଶକତି ଆଉ କାହରି ।

Men and women are equal in the field,

Nation’s foundation women alone build,

ନାରୀଙ୍କ ଗୁଣରେ ଜାତି ବଢ଼ନ୍ତି,

ନାରୀଙ୍କ ଦୋଷରେ ଜାତି ପଡ଼ନ୍ତି ।

Women fit make a nation prosper

Unfit ones do its fall ensure,

ନାରୀ ଜ୍ଞାନବତୀ ଧନ୍ୟା ମହୀରେ

କୁଳକୁ ଗୌରବ ସମାଜ ସୌରଭ

ଦେଶର ସୌଭାଗ୍ୟ ବୃଦ୍ଧି ତହିଁରେ‌ ।

On wise women doth a-nation rest.

‘Glory to family and grace to race are they

(Enriching the national treasure chest.

ନାରୀଙ୍କ ମହତ୍ତ୍ୱ ବୁଝିଲେ ନାରୀ

ଅଶାନ୍ତି ନ ଥିବ କେବେ କାହାରି ।

If women feel how great they are

Peace will reign sure everywhere.

ମାତାଙ୍କ ଦୋଷରେ ସନ୍ତାନଗଣ

ଅଯୋଗା ଅଭାଗା ଦୁଃଖ ଭାଜନ ।

Through mother’s faults a child is lost,

The mother's lapse maketh its life accursed.

ଖଟାଇ ଜାଣିଲେ ମାତା କୌଶଳ

ପିଲାଙ୍କୁ ଗଢ଼ିବା ବା ଅତି ସରଳ ।

It is mother’s skill that easily can

Build up children to be men.

ସମାଜ କଲ୍ୟାଣ ବାସନା ଯେବେ,

ନାରୀଙ୍କୁ ଅବଜ୍ଞା ନ କର କେବେ ।

If social welfare is the desire,

Neglect the women never, oh never.

ନାରୀ ଜାତି ଯେବେ ହେବେଟି ଦମ୍ଭ,

ଏକା ସେ ଗଢ଼ିବେ ଜାତିର ସ୍ତମ୍ଭ ।

If women be bold they can build

Pillars for nation that will not yield

ସବଳା ନ ହେଲେ ଅବଳା ଜାତି

ଦମ୍ଭ ହେବ କାହୁଁ ଜାତିର ଛାତି ?

Unless the women be bold and strong,

How can the nation stand for long ?

ଶକ୍ତି ସ୍ୱରୂପିଣୀ ରମଣୀ ଗଣ

ଜାତୀୟ ଶକତି, ଦେଶ ଭୂଷଣ ।

Women are the incarnated power

Nation’s strength and country’s dower,

ନାରୀ ଜାତି ଯେବେ ବସିବେ ଅଡ଼ି

ନର ଝୁରୁଥିବେ ଘଡ଼ିକି ଘଡ଼ି ।

If the woman strike work ever

Men are bound to beg their favors,

ନ ରହିବ ଯେବେ ନାରୀଙ୍କ ଦୃଷ୍ଟି,

ଲୁପ୍ତ ହୋଇ ପାରେ ମନୁଷ୍ୟ ସୃଷ୍ଟି ।

If the women do not choose to care,

The human race will sure disappear.

ଜାତିର ଉନ୍ନତି ଯେବେ କାମନା

ସବୁ ଛାଡ଼ି ଆଗେ ନାରୀଙ୍କୁ ବନା ।

If the nation is to rise,

First prepare the women to be wise.

ଜାତି ଗଢ଼ି ହେବା ମୂଳରେ ଜାଣ,

ଲୋଡ଼ା ନାରୀ ସରୁ ପ୍ରକାରେ୍‌ ଟାଣ ।

The first need for a nation to be built,

Is its women turned out all round fit.

ନର ଯେଉଁ ଭଳି ସମାଜକୁ ଭିଡ଼ି,

ଦେଲେଣି ଉଠିବା ବାଟ ବିଗାଡ଼ି ।

ନାରୀ ନ ଜାଗିଲେ, ନାରୀ ନ ଲାଗିଲେ,

ନ ହେବ ହେ ବାଟ ଆଉ ସଜାଡ଼ି ।

The men have spoiled the nation’s progress

Taking the lead by force,

The women alone by taking up the rein

Can sure change its course.

ନାରୀଙ୍କ ହୃଦୟ ସଦା ସରଳ,

ସେତିକି ନରଙ୍କ ଠାରେ ବିରଳ ।

Women's mind is of guiles free,

Men can never their equals be.

ନାରୀ ଜତି ଯେବେ ନ ହେବେ ଟାଣ,

ଠାକି ନ ପାରିବ ଜାତିର ପ୍ରାଣ ।

Unless the women do stand strong,

The nation cannot exist long.

ନର ନ ପାରନ୍ତି ସମାନ ଚାଳି,

ନାରୀ ଦମ୍ଭ ହେଲେ ନେବେ ସମ୍ଭାଳି ।

To control the society men prove incapable,

Women if strong are likely to be able,

ଧର୍ମ ଡରିଲାଣି ନରଙ୍କୁ ଏବେ,

ନାରୀଙ୍କୁ ଛାଡ଼ି ନ ପାରିବ କେବେ ।

Religion at present dreads the man,

It can never forsake women.

କୁଳବତୀ ନାରୀ ଗୃହ ସମ୍ବଳ,

ତାଙ୍କ ଦିନା ଗୃହ ଦଣ୍ଡେ ଅଚଳ ।

A devoted housewife is the pivot of home,

Without her home to ruin doth coms,

ନରଙ୍କର ନାହିଁ ନାରୀଙ୍କ ଧୈର୍ଯ୍ୟ,

ଶୂନ୍ୟରୁ ଖୋଜନ୍ତି ନର ଐଶ୍ୱର୍ଯ୍ୟ ।

Patience of women is wanting in man,

Men seek fortune anyhow they can.

ଧୈର୍ଯ୍ୟ ଅବତାର ରମଣୀ ଜାତି,

ନର ଧୈର୍ଯ୍ୟହୀନ ବୋଲି ଅଖ୍ୟାତି ।

Women are images of patience,

Men blameworthy for its absence.

ହାତଟି ସଜାଡ଼ି ଯେବେ ଆଗରେ,

ସବୁ କାମ କରି ଯିବ ବାଗରେ ।

First of all, prepare your hand,

Success in everything you'll command,

ନିଜ ହାତକୁ ଯେ ଚିହ୍ନିବ ନାହିଁ,

ତା’ଠାରୁ ଅଯୋଗା କ ପୁଣି ଥାଇ ।

One who does not value his hand,

Is the greatest fool on land,

ହାତେ ହାତେ କାମ ନ କରେ ଯେହୁ,

ହାତ ଗୁଣ କାହୁଁ ବୁଝିବ ସେହୁ ?

How can hand's virtue be known,

With hands if seeds have not been sown ?

ଜୀବନ କହିଲେ କାମ ବୁଝାଇ,

କାମ ନାହିଁ ଯେବେ ଜୀବନ କାହିଁ ?

Life is work and inertia death,

Dead is the idle man though he has breath,

କାମରୁ ସକଳ ସୌଭାଗ୍ୟ ଜାତ,

ଆଳସ୍ୟ ଅଟଇ ଦୁର୍ଭାଗ୍ୟ ତାତ ।

With work your fate you build,

Poverty sure sloth doth breed,

କାମଟି ଚିହ୍ନାଇ ଦିଏ ଜୀବନ,

କାମର ଅଭାବ ମୃତ୍ୟୁ ଲକ୍ଷଣ ।

Action is life know O Friend,

Inaction sure is life’s end,

କାମ କରି କାମ ବଳେ ଡରିବ,

କାମ କର କାମ-ପ୍ରୀତି ବଢ଼ିବ ।

Work and work end kill work’s fear,

Work and work, the work will be dear.

କାମ କର କାମ ଯିବଟି ସରି,

କାମ କର ଦୁଃଖ ଯିବଟି ହରି ।

Work and work, the work will be finished,

Work and work all wants will be banished.

କାମର ମହତ୍ୱ‌ ବୁଝଇ ଯେହୁ,

କାମରୁ ସୌଭାଗ୍ୟ ଲଭଇ ସେହୁ ।

If to work you give regard,

Fortune is your sure reward.

ଅକାମୀ ବୋଲି ତ ପଦାର୍ଥ ନାହିଁ;

ଆମ ହାତ ଗୁଣେ ଯେତେ ଯେ ଅକାମୀ

Don’t treat anything as waste,

କାମ ପଛେ ପଛେ ଧନ ଯେ ବଳେ ବଳେ ଗୋଡ଼ାଇ ।

A daft hand can bring money out,

Potency of hand do never doubt.

ଛୋଟ ବଡ଼ ନାହିଁ କାମ ଭିତରେ,

କାମ ଛୋଟ ବଡ଼ ଆମ ହାତରେ ।

No work is high or low,

It is Just as your hand can show,

ମୁଣ୍ଡ ହାତ ଦୁହେଁ ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଦାନ,

କେହି ତ କାହାକୁ ନୁହନ୍ତି ସାନ ।

ଗୋଟିବ ଛାଡ଼ିଲେ ଆରଟି ମାଟି;

ନ ଭୂଲିବ ଏହି କଥାଟି ଖାଣ୍ଟି ।

God has given both hand and brain,

Either is great in its domain,

One depends on the other,

କର୍ମହିଁ ଜୀବନ, ଜୀବନ କର୍ମ,

ଜୀବନର ହେଲା କର୍ମଟି ଧର୍ମ ।

Work is life and life is work,

Without work the life is dark.

ତୁଚ୍ଛା ଅଭିଳାଷ ପାଣିରେ ଗାର,

କରି ଯା’ କାମରେ ଯେ ଯେତେ ପାର ।

Desires are desires having no shape,

Without work to void escape,

ହାତର ମହତ୍ୱ ନ ବୁଝେ ଯେହୁ,

ଅଯୋଗା ଅଭାଗା ନିକମା ସେହୁ ।

Incompetent, unfortunate,

and worthless is he,

The value of his own hands who cannot see,

ନିକମା ନିନ୍ଦଇ ହାତକୁ,

ଚାହିଁ ବସିଥାଏ ନାଥଙ୍କୁ ।

The worthless blames his own hand,

Lost in dreams of fairy lands.

କାମ କରି ଯିବା ସରଳ,

ପରଙ୍କୁ ଚାହିଁବା ଅକଳ ।

It is easy to wok all by self,

To wait for others is trouble itself.

ପ୍ରଭୁ ଦେଇଛନ୍ତି ହାତ ଆମ୍ଭଙ୍କୁ,

କିପାଁ ରହିଥିବା ଚାହିଁ ପରଙ୍କୁ ?

God has provided us with hand,

Why should we on others depend.

ପଛ ଘୁଞ୍ଚା ଦେଲେ କାମ ବେଳରେ,

କାମ ବାଛି ନିଅ ରୋଗ ବେଳକୁ,

Pick up some works when you are ill,

Pains of illness the work can kill,

ଯେ ଜନ ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କୁ ହେଜି ମନରେ,

ଲାଗି ରହି ଥିବ ସଦା କାମରେ;

ଚିର ସୁଖ ଶାନ୍ତି ହାତେ ତାହାରି,

ଅଶାନ୍ତି କଦାପି ନ ପାରେ ଘାରି ।

With God in mind and work in hand,

On pedestal of peace you stand,

ହୃଦେ ଅନ୍ତର୍ଯ୍ୟାମି, କର୍ମ ହସ୍ତରେ,

ମନୁଷ୍ୟ ଦେବତା ଶାନ୍ତି ରାଜ୍ୟରେ ।

Man is lord in a peaceful land.

ଲାଖି ରହି ଥିଲେ ସଦା କାମରେ

କାମ କର କାମ ମିଠା ଝରିବ,

ନାମ ବଳେ ଧାଇଁ ଆସିବ ତେବେ ।

Work for name ends in shame,

‘Work for work brings sure fame.

ମନୁଷ୍ୟ ଦେବତା କାମ ବଳରେ,

ମନୁଷ୍ୟ ପିଶାଚ କାମ ଫଳରେ ।

Man is god if work is pure,

Man is devil if ill-doer.

କାମ କରିଯାଅ ଯେ ଯେତେ ପାର,

ଅପେକ୍ଷା ନ ରଖି କେବେ କାହାର ।

As far as possible work yourself,

Never wait for other's help.

ଚଞ୍ଚଳ ମନକୁ ଦାବିବା ପାଇଁ,

କାମ ବାଛି ବାଛି ଦିଅ ଲଗାଇ ।

ଅଳସୁଆ ହୋଇ ବସିବ ଯେବେ,

ମନକୁ ସମ୍ଭାଳି ନ ହେବ କେବେ ।

To control the mind the best work choose,

A moment even in sloth do not lose.

A Devil’s workshop ever is sloth,

It is a flame to which your mind is a moth.

କାମରେ କହୁନ ଶକତି ଥାଇ,

ମନ କଲେ ଧନ ଆସିବ ଧାଇଁ ।

Work verily like a magic wand,

Will bring sure money to your command.

କାମ କରିଯିବ କାମକୁ ଚାହିଁ,

ଆଗ ପଛ କେବେ ଭାବିବ ନାହିଁ ।

Work as work is always fair,

For results you need never care.

କରିଯାଅ ଯାହା କରିବ ଯେବେ

କରିବା କରିବା କହି କେବେ ।

Work work in the living hour,

To to-morrow do nothing defer.

ହାତ ଲାଗିଥିବ କାମରେ ଯେତେ,

ହାତ ବଳ ବଢ଼ୁଥିବଟି ତେତେ ।

The more the hand in work engaged,

The more its strength for work is raised.

ହାତକୁ ପାଶୋରି ହେଲୁଣି ପଙ୍ଗୁ,

ଘରଧନ ବୋହି ଦେଲୁଣି ଅୁଙ୍ଗ ।

Forgetting our hands we prove invalid,

Looted alas are our treasures solid.

କାମ କରିବାରେ ଯେ ଲାଗିଥିବ,

କାମ କରିବାର ବଳ ବଢ଼ିବ ।

ଥରେ କାମ ପ୍ରୀତି ଗଲେଟି ମାଡ଼ି,

କାମକୁ କଦାପି ନ ହେବ ଛାଡ଼ି।

Work improves the working power,

Work once liked you cannot spare.

ହାତ ବଳି ହତିଆର ତ ନାହିଁ

ହାତ ପରଶରେ ତୁଚ୍ଛା ବାଲି ଗୋଡ଼ି

ସହଜେ ସୁବର୍ଣ୍ଣ ପାଲଟି ଯାଇ ।

No appliance is superior to hand,

By touch it turns to gold the sand,

ହାତକୁ ବଳି ତ ହତିଆର ଆଉ

ନାହିଁ କିଛି ଜଗତରେ,

ହାତକୁ ଅକାମୀ କଲେ ତ ଅକାମୀ

ହେବାଟି ସବୁ କାମରେ ।

An appliance superior to hand,

Is never found anywhere,

By neglecting hands we neglect ourselves,

ହାତର ମହିମା ନ ବୁଝେ‌ ଯେହୁ,

ଅତି ହତଭାଗା ଜାଣିବ ସେହୁ ।

One who knows not the worth of hand,

Most unfortunate is he on the land.

ଯଶ ପଉରୁଷ ଯେତେ ବିଭବ,

ହାତରୁ ତ ଅଧିକରେ ଉଦ୍ଭବ ।

Name, fame and al! treasures,

Hand produces more than others.

Seeing you engaged in works ever,

Evil thoughts would fly in fear.

ସ୍ୱାର୍ଥକୁ ପାଶୋରି ପରଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ,

କାମ କର କାମ ବ୍ୟର୍ଥ ନ ଯାଇ ।

Work for others forget self,

Success in hands god will help,

କର୍ତ୍ତବ୍ୟ ପାଳନେ ନ କର ତ୍ରୁଟି,

ତ୍ରୁଟି ଧରାଇବ ଆପଣା ଚୁଟି ।

Duty is duty heed it ever,

Lapse a snare, know it sure,

ଯେ ଯାହା କର୍ତ୍ତବ୍ୟ ଆଗେ ଚାଳିବ,

କି ହେବ ନ ହେବ ପଛେ ଭାଳିବ ।

Duty as duty first respect;

Question of results do forget,

ମନ ଦୁଃଖ ହେଲେ ଲାଗ କାମରେ,

To remove all troubles from the mind;

ଲଗାଇ ପାରିଲେ କାମରେ ମତି,

ବଢ଼ିଯିବ କାମ କରିବା ଶକ୍ତି ।

The working power doth increase you find.

ଯେ ଯେତେ ପାରିବ କାମରେ ଖଟି,

ତା ଦୁଃଖ ତେଣିକି ଯିବଟି ହଟି ।

The more one devotes to works his labour,

His miseries vanish and comes fortune’s dower.

ହାତେ ହାତେ ଥାଇ ଅମୂଲ୍ୟ ନିଧି,

ଚଳାଇ ଜାଣିଲେ ମିଳଇ ସିଦ୍ଧି ।

Priceless treasures in hands do lie,

Yours are they if hands you play.

କାମକୁ ଦେବତା ମଣି ଚିତ୍ତରେ

କାମ କର ଭାଗ୍ୟ ନିଜ ହାତରେ ।

Divinity in work doth lie,

Fortune is assured if hands you play.

କରିବା କରିବା ପାଣିରେ ଗାର,

କରି ଯା’ କାମରେ ଯେ କ୍ଷଣେ ପାର ।

Promises to work are marks on water,

If no work they soon disappear.

ହାତ ସଜାଡ଼ଇ କଳକୁ କଳ ହେଲେ ଅକଳ,

କଳ ପାରିବ କି ସଜାଡ଼ି ହାତ ହେଲେ ଅଚଳ ?

Hand repairs machines when out of order,

Can machines repair a hand? Never oh’ never.

ହାତ ଲାଗିଥିବ କାମରେ ଯେତେ,

ସହଜେ ଅସଜ ନ ହେବ କେବେ ।

Hands to work if regularly set,

Out of order do never they get.

ହାତ ଗଢ଼ୁଅଛି ଯେଉଁ କଳକୁ,

ସେ କାହୁଁ ବଳିବ ହାତ ବଳକୁ ।

ସବୁ କଳ ଯାକ ମିଳିବେ ଯେବେ,

ହାତ ଗୋଟା ଗଢ଼ି ନ ଦେବେ କେବେ ।

Machines are handiworks of hand,

Against hand they never on stand.

କଳ ପାଇଁ ଯେବେ ବେଳ ପଡ଼ିବ,

ଆମ ହାତ ଆମ କଳ ଗଢ଼ିବ ।

Of machines when we stand in need,

Our hand will turn them out indeed.

ଚଳାଇ ଜାଣିଲେ ହାତର ବଳ,

ବଳେ ହଟି ଯିବେ ଯେତିକି କଳ ।

ବିଦେଶୀ କଳର ମୋହରେ ବଣା,

ହେଲେ ରହିଯିବ ହାତ ଅଜଣା ।

Rightly if we hands do ply,

Machines with hands can never vie,

Machines brought from other lands,

Make us oblivious of hands,

ଚମକି ନ ଯିବ କଳକୁ ଚାହିଁ,

ହାତ ସଙ୍ଗେ କଳ ତୁଳା ନ ଯାଇ ।

A machine is without life sure,

With hand can it never compare,

ହାତ ଗଢ଼େ କଳ,

ହାତ ନ ଲାଗିଲେ କଳ ଅଚଳ ।

ହାତ ଚାଲୁ ଥିଲେ,

କାହୁଁ ବଳି ଯିବ ହାତକୁ କଳ ?

Hand makes machines,

Machines cannot move without hand,

If all hands move,

How could the machines stand,

କଳ ପାଇଁ ଯେତେ ହେବା ବିକଳ,

ହାତକୁ କରିବା ସେତେ ଅକଳ

କଳ ଭଜି ଭଜି ଶେଷକୁ ଫଳ,

ସରୁ ହ଼ାତ ଯାକ ହେବ ଅଚଳ ।

For machines do not get mad,

They produce results very very sad.

They paralyses hands it is sure,

And leave for the disease verily no cure,

ପର କଳ ଧରି ମାତିବା ଯେବେ,

ହାତକୁ ବିଗାଡ଼ି ରଖିବା ତେବେ ।

On machines of others if we depend,

We spoil the strength of our hand,

ବିଗାଡ଼ି ବସିଲେ ଥରେ‌ ହାତକୁ,

ଗଢ଼ି ନ ପାରିବା କଳ କାଳକୁ ।

If we spoil our hands ever,

We can make machines never.

ଆମ କଳ ଆମ ବୋଲ ମାନିବ,

ଯେତେ ଯାହା ଲୋଡ଼ା ସବୁ ଗଢ଼ିବ ।

Our machine will obey our command,

Will supply in time all we demand.

ଗଢ଼ିଲେ ପଦର୍ଥ ହାତେ ଆଗରେ୍‌,

ବଢ଼ିବ ଗଢ଼ିବା ବଳ ବେଗରେ ।

Producing articles with hands first,

Production power will develop fast.

ଆମ ହାତ ପଡ଼ିଗଲେ ଥରେ ବାଗରେ,

ନ ହେବ କଷଣ କଳ ଗଢ଼ିବା ଘରେ ।

Making of machines for our hand,

Will never be difficult in our land.

କଳିଯୁଗ ମାଡ଼ି ଆସୁଛି ଛାଡ଼ି ପାରିବା ନାହିଁ

ହାତକୁ ସଜାଡ଼ି କାମରେ, କଳ ଗଢ଼ିବା ପାଇଁ ।

Days of machines are coming apace

avoided they cannot be,

Prepare your hands by ceaseless work

the future machines to see.

ହାତ ହେଲା ଆମ ପ୍ରଧାନ ବଳ,

ହାତ ରହି ଗଲେ ହେବା ଅଚଳ ।

Hand is our main power,

Hand inactive, we are nowhere.

ଘରଟି ସମ୍ଭାଳି ନ ପାରେ ଯେହୁ,

ତା’ଠାରୁ ଅଧିକ ଅଧମ କେହୁ ?

To keep his home who is unable,

For what else is he capable ?

ଆପଣା ଭାଇଙ୍କୁ ଯେ କରେ ପର,

କାହକୁ ଘେନି ସେ ଗଢ଼ିବ ଘର ।

One to whom a brother is a stranger,

Can build a home never, oh never,

ଘର ପରାଣୀଙ୍କୁ ମଣିଷ କର,

ତେବେ ତ ବଢ଼ିବ ଆପଣା ଘର ।

Turn each member to a man,

Then sure build the home you can.

ପର ଯେ ପର, ଯେ ଭାଇ ସେ ଭାଇ,

ଏ କଥାଟି କେବେ ଭୁଲିବ ନାହିଁ ।

A stranger is a Stranger,

a brother is a brother,

This much one should forget never,

ଘର ଯେବେ ପର ହାତକୁ ଯାଇ,

ପର ଗୋଇଠାକୁ ଛଳ କିପାଇଁ ?

If the home is in the hands of others,

Why grudge kicks offered as favours’ ?

ଘର ଚିହ୍ନ, ଚିହ୍ନ ଘର ଜନଙ୍କୁ,

ତେବେ ତ ଚିହ୍ନିବ ନିଜେ ନିଜକୁ ।

First know home and know your man,

Then know yourself you can,

ତମ ଘରେ ତେମେ ହେଲେ ତମର,

ତେବେ ତ ବୁଝିବା ତେମେ ଆମର ।

After in your home you are yours,

We can then believe you are ours,

ତମ ଘରେ ଯେବେ ନୋହେ ତମର,

ତେମେତ ଆପଣା ଘରକୁ ପର ।

If your home.is your no longer,

What more are you than a mere stranger.

ଆମ ଭାତ ଖାଇ ଉଡ଼ନ୍ତି କାଉ,

ଆମେ ତ ନ ପାଉଁ ମାଣ୍ଡିଆ ଜାଉ ।

Distant birds feed on our food and fly,

For want of food we look to the sky.

ଖଙ୍କାଳ ପେଟରେ ଚାହିଁ ବସିବା,

ପେଟ ଶୁକୁ ଶୁକୁ, ଅନ୍ତ ଦୁକୁ ଦୁକୁ;

ଦାନ୍ତକୁ ନିକୁଟି କେତେ ହସିବା ।

Empty stomach and counterfeit glee,

Is sheer mockery as all can see.

ଶୂନ୍ୟେ ଶୂନ୍ୟେ ଆମ ବାନା ଉଡ଼ୁଛି,

ଧୀରେ ଧୀରେ ଏଣେ ଡଙ୍ଗା ବୁଡ଼ୁଛି ।

Our flags fly high in the air,

While our boat is sinking we do not care.

ଦେବା ଯେବେ ପର ହାତକୁ ତୁଟୀ,

କି ପାଇଁ ସେ ଅବା ନ ଯିବେ କୁଟି ।

Is it not our own fault,

If others do want only assault ?

ନିଜେ ନ ଚିହ୍ନିବା ନିଜ ସମ୍ପଦ

ପର ଲୁଟୁଥିବେ ଚାହିଁ ଆନନ୍ଦ ।

We do not know our own treasure,

When others loot we admire in pleasure.

ଧନ ଲୋଭ ତିଳେ ନାହିଁ ଆମର,

ଆମ ଧନ ଯାକ ସମସ୍ତଙ୍କର ।

For wealth we have no care at all,

What we possess doth belong to all.

ଭାଗ୍ୟବନ୍ତ ଥିଲେ ଆମ ମୌରସ,

ପର ପୋଷିବାରେ ଆମେ ସରସ ।

Calculating were our forefathers,

We are experts in feeding others.

ବାନ୍ଧିସାର ଆଗେ ନିଜ ଘରକୁ,

ଲୋଡ଼ା ହେଲେ ପରେ ଖୋଜ ପରଙ୍କୁ ।

Build your home yourself first,

Seek no help from others till last.

ଘର ଆଗ ପଛ ହିତକୁ ଭାବି

ପରଙ୍କ ହାତକୁ ନ ଦେବ ଚାବି ।

Look to thy interest present and future,

Hand over key to aliens never.

ଥରେ ହୁଡ଼ିଗଲେ ଜାଣ ପଛକୁ

କୋଡ଼ି ହେଉଥିବ କାଳ କାଳକୁ ।

Once a mistake if you commit,

All chances in life you omit,

ଧନ ଦଉଲତ ସକଳ ଯାଉ

ଘର ଗୁମରଟା ଗୁମରେ ଥାଉ ।

All treasures might go if not reserved,

Home secrets must by all means be preserve.

ଗୁମର ଫିଟିଲେ ଉମର ଭରି

ଜୀଇ ଥାଉଁ ଥାଉଁ ମରଣ ସରି ।

A man after his secrets lot,

Is surely to death’s silence hushed.

ନ ଥାଇ ଯହିଁରେ ନିଜର ଜ୍ଞାନ,

ପଡ଼ୋଶୀଙ୍କ ଠାରୁ ଶିଖ ସେମାନ ।

ଶିଖ ଯେତେ ଲୋଡ଼ା ନିଜ ହିତକୁ, ।

ଗଳାଟି ନଛାଡ଼ି ପର ହାତକୁ ।

Learn from neighbours what you can,

That will make you a perfect man.

Surrender yourself never to others,

That will make you a bird san feathers,

ପର ପୋଷି ପୋଷି ଧନ ସରିବ,

ଭାଇ ଗଡ଼ି ଯିବେ ଘର ବୁଡ଼ିବ ।

To others if you yield your trade,

A pauper soon you will be made.

ଆପଣା ଭାଇଙ୍କୁ ଆପେ ବନାଅ,

ପରଙ୍କ ମୁହଁଙ୍କୁ କିପାଁ ଅନାଅ ।

Train you if your own brothers,

What need to look to others ?

ଘର ପଡ଼ିଗଲେ‌ ପର ହାତରେ,

ଗୋଡ଼ ଭାଙ୍ଗି ଛିଡ଼ା ହେବ ଦାଣ୍ଡରେ ।

If to others you give your all,

Pauperism to your lot will fall.

ପର ଗଢ଼ି ଦେବେ ଆମରି ଘର,

ଏ ବିଚାର ଭାରି ଭ୍ରମ ଆମର ।

Others will build home for us,

Such a belief is treacherous,

ସବୁ ପରକାରେ ହେଲୁଣି ଦୋଷୀ,

ନ ଜାଣି କାହାକୁ କେମନ୍ତେ ତୋଷୀ ।

Art of flattery being to us unknown,

We succeed surely in pleasing none,

ଧନ ବୋହିଯାଏ ସୁଅ ମୁହଁରେ,

ଆମେ ତୁଣ୍ଡି ବାନ୍ଧୁ ଆମ ମୁହଁରେ ।

Money slips out from our pockets we know,

We keep mum we cannot stop its flow.

ଡରି ଡରି ସରି ଗଲୁଣି ଆସି,

ପାଲଟି ଗଲୁଣି ଘରେ ଉଦାସୀ ।

Unmanned have we been by fear,

Bringing ruin dangerously near,

ଘର ଛାଡ଼ି ସାରି ପର ହାତରେ

ତୁଚ୍ଛା ଘାରି ହେଉଥିବ ପଛରେ ।

Do not leave your home to strangers,

For that’s the way to invite dangers,

ଘର କଥା କେବେ ପର କାନକୁ,

ନ ଯାଉ ଜଗିବ କାଳ କାଳକୁ ।

Domestic secrets to be guarded forever,

Let these not reach an alien’s ear,

ଘର ଯେବେ ଆମେ ମେଲା ରଖିବା,

ପର ପଶିବାକୁ କିପାଁ ଦୋଷିବା ।

An open door will tempt a stranger,

To all and sundry open it never,

ଆମ ଘର କଥା ଆମୁକୁ ଜଣା

ଆଉ ଯା ହାତରେ ପାଇଲେ ବଣା ।

Domestic matters are our close preserve,

Outside intrusion doth check deserve,

ସୁଚିନ୍ତାରେ ସୁଖ ମିଳଇ ଶାନ୍ତି,

ଦୁଶ୍ଚିନ୍ତାରେ ଦୁଃଖ, ଦୁର୍ଦ୍ଦଶା, କ୍ଲାନ୍ତି ।

Noble thoughts bring peace and pleasures,

Evil thoughts breed troubles and dangers,

ସୁଚିନ୍ତା ପ୍ରଖର ହେଲେଟି ଜାଣ,

ହଟିଯିବ ହେଳେ ଦୁଶ୍ଚିନ୍ତା ଟାଣ ।

The more the noble thoughts do flourish,

The quicker evil thoughts will vanish.

ଯେ ଜାତିରେ ଜନ କର୍ତ୍ତବ୍ୟହୀନ,

ସେ ଜାତି ଦରିଦ୍ର ସେ ଜାତି ଦୀନ ।

Where the people fail in duty,

There the nation is merged in poverty.

ମନ ଗୁଣେ ଦୁଃଖ ସୁଖ ପାଲଟି,

ମନ ଗୁଣେ ସୁଖ ଯାଏ ଓଲଟି ।

Mind can make misery a pleasure,

Mind can turn pleasures to danger.

ମହତ ବାସନା ଫୁଟିବ ଝଳି,

କୋଟି ବାଧା ବିଘ୍ନ ପଡ଼ିବ ଟଳି ।

Noble desires are bound to flourish,

All obstructions to air do vanish,

ବାନ୍ଧି ରଖି ଯାର ଯେବେ ମନକୁ,

କି ଆଉ ଅସାଧ୍ୟ କାହିଁ ତୁମ୍ଭଙ୍କୁ ?

If you can control your mind,

Nothing out of control you find,

ଏକା ଆଳସ୍ୟକୁ ଯେ ପାରେ ଜିଣି,

ସାରା ଦୁନିଆକୁ ସେ ପାରେ କିଣି ।

To control idleness who is able,

To win the world 18 he capable,

ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ବାସନା ଫୁଟି ଉଠିବ,

ଯେତେ ଯା କଳ୍ପନା ଫାଟି ପଡ଼ିବ ।

Desire of God must be fulfilled,

All other desires bound to yield

ପ୍ରତି ମୁହୂର୍ତ୍ତରେ ମିଳଇ ଶିକ୍ଷା

ଅବିବେକୀ ଧରି ନ ପାରୁଁ ଦୀକ୍ଷା ।

Every moment we are taught,

Ignorant we can do catch naught.

ସୁଖ ଦୁଃଖ ତୁଚ୍ଛା ମନ ବିକାର,

ମନ ଦମ୍ଭ କଲେ ସବୁ ଅସାର ।

Happiness and misery are mind’s creation,

To a mind strong offer hurdles none.

ଲୋଡ଼ା ମନୁଷ୍ୟର ପ୍ରଥମ ଶିକ୍ଷା,

ସତତ ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ କଲ୍ୟାଣ ଭିକ୍ଷା ।

To pray to God for his favour,

Should be our first lessons ever,

ଚିନ୍ତାକର ଚିନ୍ତା ବଳେ କେବଳ,

ଅବଶ୍ୟ ମିଳିବ ସୁଚିନ୍ତା ଫଳ ।

Think and think, over and over,

In life you will never falter.

ସର୍ପକୁ ଯେ ପୋଷେ ଅଧାର ଦେଇ,

ନିଜ ମୃତ୍ୟୁ ପଥ ସୁଧାରେ ସେହି ।

He who rears a snake with food,

Provokes sure its venomous hood.

ଆଗେ ଚିହ୍ନି ସାର ନିଜେ ନିଜକୁ,

ତା ପରେ ଚିହ୍ନାଇ ହେବ ପରକୁ ।

First know yourself, who you are,

Then to be known to others aspire.

ଦୁଃଶ୍ଚିନ୍ତା ଗୁଡ଼ିକ ଦୁଃଖ ଭଣ୍ଡାର,

ସୁଚିନ୍ତାରେ ସୁଖ ଶାନ୍ତି ଅପାର ।

Evil thoughts are stores of dangers,

Noble thoughts bring peace and pleasures,

ନ ଜାଣି ପଣ୍ଡିତ ଯେତେ ବଢ଼ିବେ,

ଅଜଣା ବିପତ୍ତି ସେତେ ଗଢ଼ିବେ ।

More the ignorant grow in powers,

More they invite perils’ showers.

ନ ଜାଣିବା ଜନେ ଟାଣ କରନ୍ତି,

ଯହିଁ କି ଜାଣିବା ଜନେ ଡରନ୍ତି ।

The fools rush in blindly there,

Where perils angels do fear.

ସ୍ୱାଧୀନତା ମୂଲ୍ୟ ନ ବୁଝେ ଯେହୁ,

କାହୁଁ ସ୍ୱାଧୀନତା ଭୋଗିବ ସେହୁ ।

Freedom’s sweets who doth not taste,

In thraldom doth he forever rest,

ସ୍ୱାଧୀତନା ନାମେ ତୁଚ୍ଛା କଳଙ୍କ,

ହେଲେଟି ପରଙ୍କ କରୁଣା ରଙ୍କ ।

Independence is a sure disgrace,

If you hanker after others’ grace.

ଦୋଷ ଗୁଣ ଥାଇ ସବୁ କ୍ଷେତ୍ରରେ,

ଗୁଣୀ ବାଛି ନିଏ ଗୁଣ ସଜରେ ।

The good and the bad ever together go,

The wise their difference see and show.

ଅଜ୍ଞଙ୍କ ହାତରେ ବିଜ୍ଞଙ୍କ ଚୁଟୀ,

କେ କାହୁଁ ବାଛିବ କେତେକ ତୁଟି ।

Where the ignorant controls the wise,

There ran amok the unwise,

ଅଭିଜ୍ଞତ। ମୂଲ୍ୟ ଗଲାଣି ଉଠି,

ଅନଭିଜ୍ଞ ଜନେ ଉଠନ୍ତି ଫୁଟି ।

Experience is now of value bereft,

Inexperience rules right and left.

ଆଜି ଯେ ଅଭିଜ୍ଞ ପଶୁରେ ଗଣ୍ୟ,

ଅନଭିଜ୍ଞଙ୍କର ପ୍ରଭାବ ଧନ୍ୟ ।

"The experienced today is crushed as a fool,

Powers thrust upon the inexperienced to rule,

କାମ ବିଗାଡ଼ିବା ଅଜ୍ଞଙ୍କ କାମ,

ଯେତେ ବିଗାଡ଼ିବେ ଅଧିକ ନାମ ।

By spoiling the work the ignoramuses earn name,

The more they spoil it adds to their fame.

ବିଜ୍ଞଜନ ହସ୍ତେ ମରଣ ଶ୍ରେୟ,

ଅଜ୍ଞ ଜନଙ୍କର କଲ୍ୟାଣ ହେୟ

Prefer death at the hands of the wise,

Shelter under the fools despise.

ବିଜ୍ଞ ଜନଙ୍କର ଅଜ୍ଞଙ୍କୁ ଡର,

ଅଜ୍ଞତା ଅନଳ ବଡ଼ ପ୍ରଖର ।

The wise do fear the ignorant first,

Fire of ignorance burns very fast,

ଡୋରି ଅନଭିଜ୍ଞ ଜନ ହାତରେ,

ବିପତ୍ତି ଆଶଙ୍କା ପ୍ରତି କ୍ଷଣରେ ।

Where fools have the upper hand,

Peril sure dosh beset the land.

ଜନ ହିତ ପାଇଁ ଚିନ୍ତା ଯାହାର,

ଧନ ଲୋଭ ରହି ନ ପାରେ ତାର ।

One who thinks of people’s welfare

Free of greed is he entire,

ମନୁଷ୍ୟତା ନାହିଁ ଧନ ବଳରେ,

ମନୁଷ୍ୟତା ଗଢ଼ା ମନ ଦମ୍ଭରେ ।

Morey can never make a man,

Strength of mind alone can,

ଅନଭିଜ୍ଞ ଜନ ପରିଚାଳନା,

ମୂଳ ତାଡ଼ି ଡାଳ କରିବେ ବଣା ।

Control left to an inefficient master,

Is bound to beget dire disaster,

ଅଭିଜ୍ଞତା ମୂଲ୍ୟ ନାହିଁ ଯେଠାରେ,

ବିପଦ ସଙ୍କୂଳ ପ୍ରାଣ ସେଠାରେ ।

Where experience is valued not,

Life is there with danger fraught

ଅନଭିଜ୍ଞତାର ବଢ଼ୁଛି ଦାଉ,

କେ ଅବା ସମାଳି ପାରିବ କାହୁଁ ?

Control of ignorance over experience,

How to prevent its evil consequence ?

ଅଭିଜ୍ଞତାକୁ ଯେ ଅବଜ୍ଞା କରେ,

ବଡ଼ ସେହୁ ଅବିବେକ ପଣରେ ।

Where experience is respected not,

Foolishness there runs rampant.

ଅନଭିଜ୍ଞତାର ପ୍ରଭାବ ଯହିଁ,

ଅଭିଜ୍ଞତା ସ୍ଥାନ ନ ଥାଇ ତହିଁ ।

Where ignorance Cloth get upper band,

Experience can there never stand.

କାମଟି ଭାଙ୍ଗିବା ଅତି ସରଳ,

ଗଢ଼ିବା ସେତିକି ବଡ଼ ଅକଳ ।

To break only a moment requires,

To build needs years and years,

ବାଟ ଖଞ୍ଜୁଥିବ ଦୁର୍ନୀତି ପାଇଁ,

କିପାଁ ଘାରି ହେବ ଦୁର୍ନୀତି ଚାହିଁ ।

If corruption’s way you pave,

Regret not consequence as grave.

ଦୁର୍ନୀତିରେ ଯେତେ ଯେ ପାର ଚଢ଼ି,

ହେଜ ରଖ ହେଳେ ପଡ଼ିବ ଗଡ଼ି ।

By dishonesty you may rise to the top,

Never forget in a trice you may drop.

ଦୁର୍ନୀତି ବଳରେ କେ କେବେ କାହିଁ,

ବଡ଼ ହୋଇ ରହି ପାରିତ ନାଇଁ ।

No one by cheer dishonesty,

Can ever maintain prosperity.

ଆହାର ମଧୁର ଭୋକ ବେଳରେ,

ସତ୍ୟ କଥାଟି ସବୁ କାଳରେ ।

Food is sweet when there is hunger,

Is a truth unshakable ever.

ଭୋକ ଆହାରକୁ ମଧୁର କରେ,

ଭୋକ ବିନା ପରିଣତି ରୋଗରେ ।

Appetite dose make food sweet,

Food begets disease if no appetite,

ନ ଜାଣିବା ଜନେ ଏକା ମଣନ୍ତି,

ଯେତେ ଯାହା ଯହିଁ ସବୁ ଜାଣନ୍ତି ।

The garb of the wise they put on,

Really who know nothing anon,

ଯେ ଯେତେ ଜାଣଇ ସେ ଏକା ଜାଣେ,

ଆଉ କେତେ କିସ ବାକୀ ନ ଜାଣେ ।

The wise knows how much more,

Knowledge he has yet to store,

ଯେ ଜନ ଯଣାଇ ଯେତେ,

ସେ ଜାଣେ ନ ଜାଣେ କେତେ ।

ନଜାଣିବା ଜନ ମଣେ ସବୁ ସେ ଜାଣେ ।

The more one knows the humbler he becomes,

Vanity never he harbors,

ଯେଉଁ କାମ ଯାକ ଯାଙ୍କୁ ଅଜଣା,

କ୍ଷମତା ପାଇଲେ କରନ୍ତି ବଣା ।

Power: blind one mars that thing,

About which he knows nothing.

ନ ଜାଣିବା ଜନ କ୍ଷମତା ପାଇ,

କାମରେ ଗଣିବେ କାମ ବୁଡ଼ାଇ ।

An ignoramus in power,

Spoils all things to be sure.

କେହି ଯେବେ ଜନ ସେବା କରିବ,

ଆଗେ ଆପଣାକୁ ହୀନ ମଣିବ ।

To know to serve people the best,

Is to become the humblest.

ଜନ ମନ ଆଗେ ଚିହ୍ନି ନ ସାରି,

ଆପଣା ମନକୁ ନ କର ଭାରି ।

Know the popular mind first,

Flatter not they self to be best.

ଚିହ୍ନି ନ ପାରିଲେ ଜନ ମନକୁ,

କି କାମ କରିବ କେଉଁ ଫଳକୁ ।

Popular mind first you must know,

Without it all empty show.

ଯାହା ଯେ କରିବ ଯାହାଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ,

ତାଙ୍କୁ ଆଗେ ଚିହ୍ନ ମନ ମିଳାଇ ।

What you do, for whom you do,

Know them first, who is who,

ରାମରାଜ୍ୟ ରହିଲାଣି ନାମରେ,

କାମ ରାଜ୍ୟ ଗଢି ପକା କାମରେ ।

Ramarajya is an expression mere,

Kamarajya is work now and here,

ଲାଗିବ କାମରେ ଯେବେ ସକଳେ,

ଫେରାଇ ଆଣିବ ସୌଭାଗ୍ୟ ବଳେ ।

Devoted be to work entire,

Fortune will be thime be sure,

ଦୁଃଖ ଦୁର୍ଦଶାକୁ ତଡ଼ିବା ପାଇଁ,

କାମ ଛଡ଼ା ଅନ୍ୟ ଉପାୟ ନାହିଁ ।

To stamp out miseries from the land,

Only way is to work with hand,

ବାନର ହସ୍ତରେ ରତ୍ନ ଭଣ୍ଡାର,

ଗଧ ଯୋଗାଇବ ବୁଦ୍ଧି ବିଚାର ।

ନିଜ କପାଳରେ କର ନ ମାରି,

କାହାଗେ ଗାଇବ କେଉଁ ଗୁହାରି ।

If treasure store is trusted to a monkey,

And measures are prescribed by a donkey.

One has only to curse his lot,

Whom to blame for one’s own fault,

ତିଳେ ଅପବିତ୍ର ଭାବ ହୃଦରେ,

ରହି ନ ପାରିବ କାମ ଭୟରେ ।

Mind engaged in work for ever,

Evil thoughts can disturb never,

କବାଟ କୋଣରେ ଥୋଇଲେ ବାଡ଼ି,

ଯିବ କି ବିରାଡ଼ି ଶୁଖୁଆ ଛାଡ଼ି ?

A passive stick kept carefully concealed,

Doth scarce in scaring a cat succeeds.

ଯେ ଯେତେ ବଢ଼ିବ ବଢ଼ ଆଗକୁ,

ତୁଚ୍ଛ ନ ମଣିବ କେବେ ପଛକୁ ।

Proceed on and on as much as you can,

Don’t treat the past as useless and vain.

ଶୋଇବ ଚଞ୍ଚଳ ଉଠିବ ଆଗ,

ସ୍ୱାସ୍ଥ୍ୟରେ, ଧନରେ, ଜ୍ଞାନରେ ଭାଗ ।

Early to bed and early to rise,

Doth make healthy, wealthy and wise.

ଯାହା ହେଲା ନାହିଁ ଭାବ କିପାଇଁ

ଯାହା ହୋଇ ନାହିଁ ଲାଗ ତା ପାଇଁ ।

Mourn not for what could not be done,

ଘୁଅକୁ ଘୋଡ଼ାଅ ଯେତେ ସନ୍ଧିରେ,

ଫୁଟିବ ତା ଗନ୍ଧ କେଉଁ କନ୍ଦିରେ ।

Conceal the evil under any cover,

Evil is evil it will leak out sure.

ଭ୍ରମ କରିବାକୁ ଆଗେ ଡରିବ,

ଭ୍ରମ ସଜାଡ଼ିବା ଭିଡ଼ ପଡ଼ିବ ।

Try to avoid a mistake to make,

Lots of trouble to correct will take

ନ ବୁଝେ ଯେ ଜନ ଚରିତ୍ର ମୂଲ୍ୟ

ହୀନ ପାଶ ସଙ୍ଗେ ନୋହେ ସେ ତୁଲ୍ୟ ।

Ono who knoweth not the value of character,

Worse is he than the lowliest creature.

ଜାତିର ଗୌରବ ଆମ ହାତରେ,

ହେଜ ରଖିଥିବ ସଦା ଚିତ୍ତରେ ।

Do not for a moment forget

Nation’s glory with us doth rest.

ଯେତେ ଯା ସମ୍ପଦ ସୌଭାଗ୍ୟ ଥାଇ,

ସରଳତା ସଙ୍ଗେ ତୁଳା ନ ଯାଇ ।

Simplicity in thoughts and in deed,

Surpasseth all treasures indeed.

ଜଟିଳ ସମସ୍ୟା ମୀମାଂସା ପାଇଁ,

କୁଟୀଳ ଭାଷଣ ଲୋଡ଼ା ନ ଥାଇ ।

Problems are problems whether big or small

Never are they solved by talks however tall,

ସ୍ୱାର୍ଥକୁ ଲୁଚାଅ ଯେତେ ଗୋପନେ,

ଯେ ଲୁଚି ରହି ନ ପାରିବ କ୍ଷଣେ ।

To conceal self-interest under any cover,

Ore can succeed oh rever and never,

ଉଗ୍ରତା ପତନ ବ୍ୟଗ୍ର ଗତିରେ,

ନମ୍ରତାର ସ୍ଥିତି ସ୍ନେହ ପ୍ରୀତିରେ ।

Hasty pride ends in speedy fall,

Humbleness earns the love of all.

ବୃହତ ଶିଳ୍ପରୁ ବୃଦ୍ଧି ଧନୀ ଧନାଗାର,

କୁଟୀର ଶିଳ୍ପକୁ ଭୋକୀ ଶୋଷୀଙ୍କ ଆହାର ।

Big industries help the rich to be richer,

Cottage industries do cure famine and hunger.

ଶିଶୁଯାକ ଆମ ଦେଖ ଶଙ୍ଖାଳି,

ଗଢ଼ି ତାଙ୍କୁ ଚଉଦିଗକୁ ଭାଳି ।

Children are our future treasures,

To mould them spare no possible measures.

ଜାତି ଭବିଷ୍ୟତ ଦେଶ ଭାଗ୍ୟକୁ,

ସୁମରି ସଜାଡ଼ି ଶିଶୁ ଗଣଙ୍କୁ ।

Look to future of country and nation,

Equip children with full attention,

ଆଜିପିଲା କାଲି ଜାତିର ଦମ୍ଭ,

ସେହି ହେବେ ଦିନେ ଦେଶର ସ୍ତମ୍ଭ ।

Children of to-day shall have to stand,

Pillars of tomorrow for our land.

ଜାତି ଭବିଷ୍ୟତ ଶିଶୁଙ୍କ କରେ,

ହେଜ ରଖିଥିବ ସଦା ଚିତ୍ତରେ ।

In hands of children the nation’s future,

Rests one should forget never.

ପିଲାଙ୍କୁ ଗଢ଼ି ନ ପାରିବେ ଯେହୁ,

ଜାତିଦ୍ରୋହୀ ଚିର ଦିନକୁ ସେହୁ ।

Those who fail their children to train,

Are traitors to country worthless men,

Receptive is child's mind tender,

Only care has one ever to render.

ପିଲାଙ୍କ ମନକୁ ଜଗି ଜାଣିବ,

ତେବେ ତ ବାଗକୁ ତାଙ୍କୁ ଆଣିବ ।

The habits of children if you read,

To guide them easily you will succeed.

ପିଲାଙ୍କ ଚଞ୍ଚଳ ମନ ପାଠରେ,

ଲାଗିବ ଯୋଡ଼ିଲେ କାମ ସାଙ୍ଗରେ ।

Manual jobs with lessons mixed,

Gets children’s mind there to fixed.

କାମ ବାଛି ନେଲେ ଖେଳ ଭଳିଆ,

ପିଲାଙ୍କ ମନକୁ ହେବ ବଢ଼ିଆ ।

Give work to children like their play,

That would make them enough gay.

ପିଲାଙ୍କୁ ଶିଖାଅ ପାଠ ଆଗରୁ,

ହାତେ ହାତେ କାମ କରି ଆଦ୍ୟରୁ ।

That would make child in life succeed.

ପିଲାଏ ଧାଇଁ ବେ କାମକୁ ଚାହିଁ ।

Select labour fitting children’s mind,

In lesson added pleasure to find,

ପିଲାଙ୍କ ଖେଳରୁ କାମ ଛାଣିବ,

ତେବେ ତ ପିଲାଙ୍କ ମନ ଟାଣିବ ।

Work when added to play,

Makes children active and gay.

ପିଲାଙ୍କ ଖେଳରୁ କାମ ଟାଣିବ,

ସେ କାମ ପିଲାଙ୍କ ମନ କିଣିବ ।

Work when to play is added,

Makes children never Jaded.

ଖେଳ କାଢ଼ ବଡ଼ କାମ ଭିତରୁ,

ବଢ଼ିବ ପିଲାଙ୍କ ଜ୍ଞାନ ଖେଳରୁ ।

With play do work intertwine,

That’ll give children interest fine.

କାମ ଯେବେ ହେବ କଉତୁକିଆ,

ପିଲା ଲାଗି ଯିବେ ଖେଳ ଭଳିଆ ।

‘To work if mirth is mixed,

Child mind can with ease get fixed.

ପାଠ ସଙ୍ଗେ କାମ କାମ ସଙ୍ଗେ ପାଠ,

ଅଖ କରି ଦେଲେ ପିଲା ଦିନରୁ ।

ସୁଖେ ସୁଖେ ସାରା ଜୀବନ କଟିବ,

ଦୁଃଖ କାହିଁ ହଟି ଯିବ ଦୂରରୁ ।

From early years join work with play,

That would make future happy and gay.

ପିଲାଙ୍କ ଖେଳରେ କାମ ଖଞ୍ଜିବ,

କାମରେ ପିଲାଙ୍କ ମନ ରଞ୍ଜିବ ।

Add works in child’s play

In work he would became gay.

ଖେଳାଇ ଖେଳାଇ ଅତି ସଜରେ,

ପିଲାଙ୍କୁ ଲଗାଇ ପାର କାମରେ ।

Initiate children to work through play,

That will make them blithe and gay.

ପିଲାଙ୍କୁ ମତାଅ ଯେଉଁ ବାଗରେ,

ପିଲା ମାତି ଯିବେ ଅତି ବେଗରେ

Canalise child-energy in whatever line,

It will go on waxing and will never decline.

ଜାତି ବୁଡ଼ି ଯିବ ସୁଅ ଟାଣରେ ।

Woe will sure befall a nation,

If young ones fall victims to vision.

କାମରେ ଖଟାଇ ଶିଖା ପିଲାଙ୍କୁ,

ଚହଟି ଉଠିବ ଦେଶ ପଦାକୁ ।

Harness the children to work hard work,

Country will then rise to desired mark,
